Press-Conference of Successful People

The creative group of the film 'Champion's Anatomy' headed by the central character of the documentary, double Olympic champion Alexey Tishchenko, held a press-conference in the regional Journalists' House. The subject of the press-conference was the good news that the documentary 'Champion's Anatomy' was awarded one of the main prizes at the the III International Sports Film Festival.

Vladimir Golovnyev, film director, shared the complexity of the creative challenge he faced. Life itself changed the initial plot of the film. The to-be documentary about sports, brilliant victories and rare defeats in the boxing ring transformed into the documentary contemplation on an athlete's life. First he is on the peak of success, a true child of fortune worshiped by admiring fans, but then, at the end of his sports career, the fanfare fades away, the popularity decreases, and he is suddenly faced with health problems and the issues of professional development issues. The film director didn't put pressure on the central character of the film, he didn't aim to put him in the middle of crisis to show violent emotional reaction which, by the way, is uncharacteristic for Alexey Tishchenko. Instead, he shows us the other side of the champion's medal to let us see the pain, the sweat and the blood behind the professional sports. We suddenly get to feel the cold of yet another summit conquered by the athlete and the gap separating us, ordinary people striving almost painfully for comfort and wellbeing, from the heroes who climb towards the summit at their own risk, shouldering the burden of responsibility to their country and trying to avoid the hard rocks of despair. And then they descend from Mount Olympus to start anew in the gray mundanity of everyday life...

Merited actor of Russia Mikhail Okunev also participated in the creation of the documentary, providing narration of the film. Winner of the Gold Mask, the main theatrical award in Russia, he congratulated the whole creative group with their success. Vladimir Golovnyev, film director, Pavel Tikhonov, director of photography, and Alexey Tishchenko, central character of the documentary, are a new generation of young successful people already noted for their professionalism and creative approach.
