Alexey Tishchenko, double Olympic Champion, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Omsk Oblast, received a letter signed by M. Bariev, Secretary General of Russian Olympic Committee. Marat Bariev thanked the legendary Siberian athlete for his “ persistent and fruitful efforts in promoting the ideas of Olympism in Omsk and Omsk Oblast”.

The letter also read that the sports novel “Long Fight with a Shadow”, about the people whose lives were connected with Siberia and Omsk Oblast in particular, attracted the attention of the distinguished Olympic organizer. Quoting Marat Bariev's letter: 'Thank you for the novel “Long Fight with a Shadow”, I am absorbed in reading it'.

The letter also contains detailed information on the procedure of the creation of working groups within the fields of activity of All-Russian sports federations as part of the preparation process for the Olympics-2014 in Sochi.
