Youth Train of Hope
Participants of the all-Russian Youth Train campaign made a stop in Omsk. Alexey Tishchenko eagerly responded to the invitation to meet honored guests. He firmly believes that all means of informing Russian youth about volunteer movement and promoting healthy lifestyle should be welcomed and encouraged. Youth Train route is as large-scale as our country itself. The way from Ulan-Ude to Moscow means thousands of kilometers, hundreds of smiles, millions of hopes and a whole ocean of heartfelt emotions.
At a joint press-conference at the Ministry of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of Omsk Oblast journalists were informed that there is a large number of people eager to become volunteers in our region. Even senior citizens often inquire about admission rules and vacancies. As for the students, all doors for their working as volunteers at major sports events, including the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi, are widely open, especially since the recent creation of a professional certified Volunteer Center at Omsk State Transport University.
Local journalists were able to have their questions answered by the representatives of the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation. Among them were Mikhail Trubetskoy, head of the Information and Analytical Division of the Youth Policy and Public Relations Department; Igor Mikheev, advisor of the State Programs and Public Initiatives Division of the Department; Kristina Ekzaryan, Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee representative; and Konstantin Chernikov, representative of the World Summer Universiade 2013 Executive Directorate. Honored guests were presented with a painting showing a view of Omsk. Alexey Tishchenko handed Mikhail Trubetskoy a copy of the book «Long Fight with a Shadow», the novel about Omsk citizens’ athletic prowess.
